Jamie just slipped again as he lined up a FH! and it was on a BP. this is turning into a huge problem.

1st match on the courts may not be good, but Istomin seems ok
i guess thsi is JB's 1st grass match too

He hasn't had to change from the banned Adidas grass court shoes, has he?

At least Baker's on the board in this set but I can't see him coming back into this the way the match has gone.

It may be his first match on the grass this year, but it is also Istomin's, and I would imagine that Baker has played on grass a lot more than the Uzbeki has in the past.

Clearly one of Jamies weaker surfaces.

I dont know why we dont give players WC's who actually play well on grass. To be fair Istomin is playing well, but we need more free points on serve. WC's next year to Boggo, Goodall, Eaton, Inglot :D

To be honest, when I've watched live streaming of Boggo playing a super-Challenger and Baker playing a US Challenger in the last few months, there's looked to me to be a massive difference in the standard of play, so in that sense it's not much of a surprise what's happening here. Yet we know Baker can fight and he did beat Peya here a few years ago.

The funny thing is Bakers winning most of his points when he attacks and comes into the net and he's not that kind of player, hes more of a grinder from the back. Great attitude, but not the man for the job on grass.

Starting to play better now, some encouraging signs.

Oh dear, my "Looks like the grass is giving Jamie B some kind of hay fever - does he need an anti-Istomin? ................ (er, sorry!)"  disbelief is getting retweeted by people I've never even heard of ashamed

Still, at least it gives an accurate impression of the board evileye
