Reiterating it was not my fault he lost. But I am slightly gutted for him. To be fair, the potential has always been there but there seems to be a lack of urgency or intensity from him whenever I've watched him. I want to see him get fired up on court next time I watch... no, I'm not watching him! IT'S NOT MY FAULT.

Thanks for posting that link up Count. I have to say I have new found respect for Andrew Castle, never rated him much before but his defence of Boggo was really nice to see
Thanks. I wasn't expecting much given the cast of characters on there, but it turned out to be a decent, very balanced discussion, with Castle in particular making some good points.

Castle has been less snide in his remarks about Andy this year. Has Andy won him over? Or, is it just that he realised it would be better for his own image if he seemed to be nice?
I'm not sure, I don't really trust him. But whatever reason he has for changing his tune, long may it last.
Yes, quite a decent balanced discussion about Boggo and a few other matters re British tennis as a whole, but certainly down to Andrew Castle that it was balanced. He showed some real understanding on some points.
Bit confusing by JL re funding that at his age Boggo shouldn't be needing help and funding but if he does better maybe it can be looked at again and we can help him - eh ? But folk do tie themselves in knots re the funding thing, eg. elsewhere on the forium Draper and he's doing pretty well and still to reach his peak and Steven's classic add on " so we cut his funding".
Anyway, interesting re Sue's closing remark about inviting the LTA to put thir point of view on things later in the week. It would be great if re tennis as a whole in GB they could come out with an honest overall view of what's going well and what's not going well, rather than just spinning what may be some good and ignoring the bad. Particularly if it's Draper though, I won't be banking on that
I can't claim the classic add-on, that was the Count's (maybe the fact that he spelt all 5 words right threw you?)
You would actually expect Bouncy to have some understanding, given that even when he was GB no. 1, the highest he reached was WR 80 so he must have spent most of his career on the Challenger circuit - and he probably know that WR 80 then is equivalent to a fair bit outside the top 100 now.
He also had a 0-5 singles record in DC and lost in R1 at Wimbledon the last 5 times he played there, including the last time in 1992 when he gave to Leonardo Lavalle, who sounds like he should have been a plum draw. His only singles win at Wimbledon by 4, 0 & 6. His two wins at Wimbledon were against Olhovskiy, a qualifier ranked 227 at the time, and Broderick Dyke, ranked 57 at the time but whose Wimbledon record was W 1 L 6, the kind of draws Boggo would give his eye teeth to get.

The past seven days have been awesome, I have to say. It was great to return to Queens this year, and visit a new tournament - Nottingham. I've had the best time.

However I'm so peed off by the behaviour of the toffs in the clubhouse. I've sent a rant to Queens. "Have you any idea how apalling the behaviour of members in the clubhouse appears on international TV coverage.
The notion that one can 'Bray for Britain' while off one's face on Pimms is a touch outmoded.
If you hope to have players like Mahut and Cilic return to Queens Club you will really have to make significant efforts to ensure that members know they are at a tennis match and not the pub."
It's my local tourney and I've been going for years, but frankly it's just really moving into the disgusted of Tunbridge Wells zone for me.
I did notice the behaviour of the toffs this year. It was pretty crass and at least a touch rude. Not just on court either, but just all over the complex wherever they went their attitude seemed a tad snotty.
I found it a little ridiculous. Why can't people just be real? *shrugs*
