A bit harsh, Count? I thought Alex played some excellent shots amongst the errors. Such a pity he lost. I'm pleased he will be playing qualies in SW19. Think it might be better for points, although not money unless he can qualify. Good Luck to him.
Also happy with his decision re Davis Cuo. Don't see how the LTA can kick him in the butt so many times and expect him to jump when they need him.

possibly, but it was more the nature opf the errors, more just being too tight/nervous i think, opening point on his serve put into the net and it kinda set the tone for Alex's play from there, couple of shots just over hit etc, and then that shot after he sshould have smashed it, looked like his brain had frozen.
Its a shame, credit to Dimi he played well, kept his cool on the big points and worked hard for it, came up with some increbile shots too. Maybe a bit of new coach factor in there as well? cause there's no way he's being doing that kinda performance often this year.

I had a horrible feeling about the match when they had to come off last night. I realise Boggo tends to start strong, so the obvious interpreation was that it would work to his advantage, but he seemed to be having a fair bit of fun out there yesterday and playing without too much tension and I reckon he would have pulled through yesterday.

In other news, Bogdanovic has just been into his presser, and here is some of what he had to say: "It's always disappointing when you lose. I lost focus, didn't deal with the rain delay, and was broken to lose that second set. But today, he served very well, and I hit a few loose points, and lost the match. I am just trying to win every match I play. I believe I can be a top 100 player. I have 6-7 years left in my tennis career, and I don't think I've fulfilled my potential yet. That is my goal." Well said Alex. We'll always be cheering you on.

"PS: Bogdanovich confirms he didn't get wildcard because he's refusing to play DC against Turkey- the British number 2 says it's "disrespectful" for LTA to question his effort- he had his funding cut by 15K in Dec."
More from ACE: ".'It's their decision, and they feel like I didn't make use of the WCs'"

it was on BBC2 a short while ago along with a long discussion on Boggo with John Lloyd, Andrew Thingy and Sue Barker. It may turn up on the BBC website later with any luck.
