Wow, thats a very good win for Eaton and Inglot in the dubs. Bubka and Tursunov would have been a huge force so credit to the lads, they are a great partnership, doing really well together.
Hope for further success and i think theyre definitely in with a shot of winning the title.
Just to comment briefly on the ending of Wardinator v Dent, which was a fine match. With the 5bps at 5-5 Alex only really had one good chance to get the break, at 15-40 when he forced Dent into a weak approach shot, and had enough time (too much perhaps) to hit a strong passing shot down the line or crosscourt (which had caused Dent problems on a number of occasions at the net) but opted to lob, without sufficient depth.
In the tiebreak Alex got a lucky netcord return at 5-3 (might have been a winner anyway) to set up the first 3 matchpoints. It was then that he got tight, missing first serves from then on and trying a fairly desperate serve-volley on one of the matchpoints to finish things quickly, as Dent just bunted the ball around sensing the nervousness. To his credit he regrouped, not doubting himself, handling Dent's service points increasingly well and eventually worked the last point in a calmer fashion to gain the victory his overall play deserved.
Obviously delighted with A.Ward's result but can't help feel like we could've(/should've) had more in the quarters.
In regards to the updates Sally was sending them regularly its just for some reason my phone decided to hold them back and then give them to me all at once which is when I updated!
Hi everyone. Thanks Vamos08 for posting such scores as I sent you.
Many many apologies for the confusion over the Tursunov/Ihlan result - it was the one match not updated on the OOP at the entrance when I arrived so I asked someone and they said the Russian had won! Argh. It was only later that I found out that he'd lost. Hope no-one confuses Russians and Turks at the DC tie!!!
by the time I arrived (5pm) there were mostly doubles matches on court apart from Bally and Wardy on Centre. Watched some of Bally's match - she was well in command. By the time James started I was wandering around watching various doubles and I can't go very fast on the new knee so only went back to centre twice. Each time I watched Wardy was broken!!! So, erm, I went back to watch the dubs.
Found LT watching Marray/Dimitrov (no surprises there then) and later we found James. Good to see you both again. Sorry anyone else if I walked past you not knowing you were there! Didn't spot anyone fighting with his Mum or throwing sardine sandwiches in the bin.
Watched Anderson/Navarro for a while - thought they were going to win in 2 but t'others bit back. It seemed to go on for aaaages.......
Eaton and Inglot were very solid. Dom looks taller than Chris!!! Think TBH Dima had given up by the end of the match - having lost the singles earlier I suspect he was wanting to be off down south. Not taking anything away from Eatlot though - good performance from them.
Flemski were outplayed good and proper by their Japanese oppo in the first set but came back really well in the 2nd. They were up a couple of breaks in the CTB but both Soeda and Sukita hit some excellent points to level it up to 9-9 and from then they took it in turns to have a match point each until Flemski closed it out.
In the cheering tent for Flemski - Louis Cayer, Paul Hutchins, Leon Smith and Aucks (and various assorted brits).
Boggo/Slabba started around the same time as Eatlot and Flemski but I couldn't keep up with all of 'em so I didn't clock the result for Sloggo.
Interesting near dust-up after Marray/Dimitrov had won. Their oppo decide to challenge (or ask sort of) how many double-faults they thought there had been in the match. it looked a bit heated for a while but afterwards Jonny shrugged it off and didn't seem bothered. Win's a win.
There were some other strange goings on regards w/o's ........ Bloomers (and his Alt partner who's name I cannot for the life of me remember) were on court warming up and waiting for Ebden/Begemann. The latter took ages arriving on court and Bloomers looked a bit impatient so I wandered off. By the time I came back Ebden/Begemann had been given a w/o. I have no idea why.
The following match wasn't played - Delgy/Goodall w/o Clement/Mannarino.
Then chaos really kicked in.
For some reason they moved the doubles matchas around but some of the names didn't quite make it ..... Then they told me Flemski had moved to Court 1. erm, nope - they were on Court 4 as planned. Eatlot were on Court 1 at the time - I know 'cos I was watching them!!!
Dunno how others found it but getting information 'on the ground' was nearly as tough as it was off the internet. No-one seemed to know what was going on ........
Oh, and cracker comment of the day? The Umpire for the Ward/Milton v Butorac/Lipsky match asking Lipsky:- "which Round are we in?"
Steven - when next I catch a gorilla I'm sending it to you first class.
Stircrazy - sorry mate but doubles thread or not it's all in here ............ if it's desperate that the doubles notes are moved I'm sure a mod will help!!!
PS. I'll probably post up some piccies in jm.org 'cos I'm more familiar with the format for that forum. Will post link when I do.
g'night y'all...................

I'm going to go again tomorrow. Having followed the Wardinator quite closely now for around a year I can't resist the temptation to watch him in a Challenger QF. If Boggo would have been there as well it would have been a much easier decision but having carefully considered it I have decided it is worth going again.
I've got to do some revision for my exams next week in the morning though and collect my car from its servic at the garage so I won't be there at 11. Hopefully I can make it just as Ward is starting and then still see Anne and Bally's 2nd matches afterwards.
Scores at www.twitter.com/futuresscores when I eventually make it.

Oh dear, I know how frustrating that is. Apologies to Sally for the AM.com amateurs / getting the gorillas to do it comment - she knows me well enough to realise it was all meant in fun, of course.
I agree, after the Wardinator's heroics, it was very disappointing not to end up with more than one Brit in the men's QFs. The draw is wide open too - there were 6 players ranked 110 or better when we started out and none of them have made it to the QFs! Ominously (for DC), the only seed who has made it through is no. 7, a certain Marsel Ilhan.
Can I just say many thanks to Josh, wolf, silver, Sally and everyone else who has texted, tweeted or come home and written reports from Nottingham so far this week, and even to those who have just enjoyed the highs and lows on the forum. It's great to be able to follow events like this with such a committed and enthusiastic bunch.
A fair few @gbtennis twitter followers and 'lurkers' (people who have registered but don't post on the forums) have DM'd, pm'd, emailed or in a couple of places @replied to say how impressed they are with the fab 'team' of forumites who are providing all this info, so thanks from all of them too!

I'm touched, but think of the expense!

dont know if was picked up but rather unsurprisingly Slabgo lost in the dubs. i have a suspicion Boggo's effort levels may have been on the low side, esp given a run in dubs could have prevented him playing queens qualies (as i dont think he'll be getting a WC)
