I thought Sally was going to be texting later in the day scores (doubles, etc) to Vamos and to people on Am.com but nothing's appearing on AM.com and it looks like Sally's got her BOTB friends the gorillas on the case sending random updates to Vamos.
That's what happens when the BT boys go home and let the AM(.com)ateurs loose ...

Bloomin' 'ecky thump. Apologies to anyone who was watching my twitter feed and waiting in agony for scores. My phone is a giant mess of treacle-responsive sh*** if I'm honest with you. No other way of putting it. When it dies, I won't mourn it.
Absolutely cracking day. Thoroughly enjoyed it and was absolutely blown away with the A-Ward-Dent match. That was easily the highlight of the day. That I was looking forward to watching Anne and Bally play makes it even more impressive!
Alex had easily the best mentality and demeanour of all of the Brits I saw in action today; never got down on himself, never huffed and whined, never moaned... just went out there and got on with it and kept positive, pumped himself up... just so different to a lot of the other players I've seen before. Even during and after that... er... second set (if we can call it that, blink and you missed it!!!), he was still going strong, not getting down on himself. Dent was missing a lot in the first set and that partially contributed to him losing serve and that was the difference in that second set, Dent barely missed a ball.
And then Dent started missing again and Alex just kept getting the balls back. He was like a brick wall at times. Even when things got tight, he didn't blow it, he didn't hit wild, wild shots. He may have got a little nervous but he brought it back. I think I might have been more nervous for him. Just a great, great performance from Alex he thoroughly deserved the win. GOOD LAD!
Boggo was Boggo. I really just cannot say much more than that. I haven't ever seen him win a match.
James was playing reasonably well at the start of the match but then Ryan put on the afterburners and was well away. I couldn't see James coming back to be fair.
Last comment I have to add: I would not want to pick a fight with Marcus Willis. I saw him sat down beside a court and I thought "he's HUGE!" - that is a solidly built, beefy guy.
I had a proper geekfest day today spotting all the players that I recognised that my mum hadn't got a clue about. The only ones she recognised were Boggo and Tursunov. And they both lost.
Oh she knew Bally and Anne but other than that, she was lost... *SIGH*
