Judging by the last the few posts, The Magician has an eye for detail!!!
Make mistakes (however small) at your peril!

Meatball won 4 & 4, what a day he and Ward have had. biggrin

LTA confirm Dr No lost http://www.lta.org.uk/Watch/British-Tennis-Series/AEGON-Trophy/Brit-Watch1/ (if the ambiguity had already been sorted out on here, I missed it, so apologies just in case!)

Your right. Eatons a good grass court player. So a top win for Meatball.

Fab stuff from the Wardinator and Meatball, a pity they only get 3 points given the strength of the qualifying draw - there's a 100K Challenger on clay this week with lots more points and a much weaker field.

The Wardinator has got DeHeart in R1, Meatball has got (7) Ilhan ... can he strike a pre-DC blow? It would be a very major shock if he did.

Steven - the weather forecast for tomorrow in Nottingham says there will be light rain all day - what will happen then?

No play, I assume. They played day 1 of women's qualifying indoors when it rained, but I doubt they'd move the main draw indoors this early in the week.

If we cant be positive now when can we be.

Chris Eaton is mentioned by some for WC's here and there, he must have a chance. Evans and Marcus Willis (who likes the grass I believe) are also in that quarter so its probably our best bet.

each of the other quarters also has a grass favouring Brit, Bloomers in the 4th, Arlidge in the 1st and Josh Milton in the 2nd.

Of course we'll get qualifiers!

2 out of four qualifiers is quite okay for me.  Players always come out of the pack this time of year, certainly wouldn't have picked Ward and Willis.  Theres more to come I am sure.....now on to the main draw.

So it will be played on Wednesday instead, provided Tuesday is a wash out that is? What about the players who get to the final but are in Queens? hmm

Yes, they'll just pack more matches into Wednesday and if it rains then as well, they might think about moving matches indoors.

Players who get to the Final but want to play Queen's qualifying probably won't be able to - when the early grass court Challenger was in Surbiton, it was possible to race from one to the other on the Saturday and Sunday (Tsonga did that once, winning all his matches in both places if I remember right) but I doubt that's feasible any more.

Of course, you'd hope any Brit who could realistically reach the final weekend in Nottingham would also have a WC into the Queen's main draw. You'd hope ... but players have had to choose between an Eastbourne MD WC and playing in Wimbledon qualifying before, so who knows. I can't actually seeing us getting anyone into the final weekend here, not least because Boggo's draw is absolutely appalling, but if we do, they'll gain a lot more points here than they would at Queen's where the fact it's only a 250, the ridiculously strong entry list and the fact it's a 48-draw mean that the points on offer for qualifying and even for winning a couple of rounds in the main draw are pathetic.

I've just put how to get non-car directions on the doubles thread btw.

smile.gif Thank you. The problem now is... if only we could be certain if it's going to rain tomorrow or not! I'm really uncertain whether or not to go. I really want to but as I said it's quite a bit of a journey for me and not that cheap so if there's no play or absolutely minimal play, I'd be better off staying here and then going on Wednesday. Any advice?! hmm
