Well spotted David. Maybe she was just fed up of the 'stoops to conquer' headlines!

she's gonna have to put up with "Georgie wins thru gently" or "Georgie, please be a gent and win the next match"

im just so far ahead of her it's untrue

Qualie draw out, 23 out of 27 players British and no Lisa or Anna Fitzpatrick so possibly they have snared the last two wild cards or possibly not.

Here's the qualifying draw if you haven't seen it yet.

(1)Kai-Chen Chang (TPE) v BYE
Hope Johnson (GBR) v Emily Rodbourne (GBR)

(wc)Samantha Vickers (GBR) v Mhairi Brown (GBR)
(8)Tara Moore (GBR) v Aimee Gibson (GBR)

(2/wc)Marie-Eve Pelletier (CAN) v BYE
Jessica Ren (GBR) v Charlotte Phillips (GBR)

Amanda Elliott (GBR) v Riza Zalameda (USA)
(5)Natalie Grandin (RSA) v BYE

(3)Emily Webley-Smith (GBR) v BYE
Yasmin Clarke (GBR) v Manisha Foster (GBR)

Jennifer Ren (GBR) v Georgina Bastick (GBR)
(7)Jade Windley (GBR) v Emelia Box (GBR)

(4)Jocelyn Rae (GBR) v BYE
Jazzamay Drew (GBR) v Emily Southall (GBR)

Laura Deigman (GBR) v Alexandra Walker (GBR)
(6)Danielle Brown (GBR) v Mawuena Ankutse (GBR)

As EWS is the No3 seed, Anna, Mel and Naomi B must've been moved into the main draw. Lisa also there too.

A good chance for some players to pick up their first points

It's a shame that Fran Stephenson isn't here. One more point and she get a WR.

I'm guessing Kai-Chen Chang was a late entry. Ranked at 89 in the world, she will prove a massive obstacle for Tara et al in her quarter/ or positively a good opportunity to play a high calibre opponent.

Not much hope for Hope then assuming she wins her QR1.

Lisa has tweeted that she's in the main draw now, doesn't specify whether it's as a DA or a WC but she was behind Wobbly in the alternates list, so it must be a WC.

Q1: DEAN, Eleanor (GBR) WC UNR v GRANDIN, Natalie (RSA) 5 505

The list above has Grandin playing Bye, perhaps Eleanor was a late inclusion.

Its good to see Yasmin playing international tournaments again.

According to a post on GBTG Georgie has been in plaster after an operation on her foot. She has just had the plaster removed but is a long way away from making a comeback. Still not sure whether Mr Gent married her whilst she has been on the sidelines.

Someone who follows the GB top 25 table but doesn't post here has kindly solved this mystery - apparently Georgie's mother married a Mr Gent last year and Georgie decided to change her name by deed poll to match but the change must have only just come through.

I realise it's unusual for an adult child to change their surname when their mother marries like this but there are all kinds of possible reasons, some of them rather sweet, and I think we should just be happy the mystery's been solved and not go off into reams of speculation about the reasons something which has clearly got nothing to do with Georgie's tennis.

Good luck Georgina Gent! biggrin

Still doesn't explain the change from Georgie to Georgina though!

Cheng may not be such a bad layer to face.

She is not having a great year (only winning 6 matches so far) and hasn't played on grass since 2008.
