Indeed, anything less than a comfortable win in this tie was unthinkable.

Ilhan might be a decent player but doesn't have much experience on grass.

A very professional performance by the Brits today and anything other than closing the match out tomorrow will be very disappointing.

Baker played pretty well against Zorlu, but wasn't really tested against a player who was out of his depth, and knew that he was out of his depth. Baker though played a lot better than I was expecting from him, so his run to the final of the futures has done him the world of good.

Ward played excellently, if you ignore the period from 5-3 in the third set to the start of the 4th where he couldn't buy a first serve and couldn't put a second serve return even close to the court. He served really well otherwise and put Ilhan under lots of pressure on the return which meant he never had a cheap service game.

Not quite sure how Ilhan is ranked that high on today's effort - could have just been a bad day at the office for him, because not a lot that he tried worked.

Flemski should close the tie out tomorrow, and we can sit back and enjoy the dead rubbers on Sunday.

First test as well of Leon Smith's captaincy and he passes very nicely. Picked the right team for the match and whatever he said to Ward after the 3rd set worked because he put that disaster out of his mind.

What was the conclusion to the lack of tickets saga?

They were available for collection from the ticket office when I enquired about what had happened.

So the issue is why I was told that they were on the way to my house when I phoned up when they had already been sent to the ticket office to be collected on the day!!!

From LTA
Marsel Ilhan has pulled out of the doubles. Ergun Zorlu will take his place. Gosh. Is Ilhan injured? Or has he just had enough? Interesting. Still. It doesn't change the job that Flembo and Skuppers have to do today.

actually the link is very good for me too now. Pity I didn't find it yesterday. Col and Ken winning their games easily, losing only 3 points on serve. Pushing the Turks hard in each of their games.

My livestream worked well for the first set but has been awful through the second (which Flemski took 6-4) When it is there it is 2-3 points behind the Bet365 scoreboard.

I must say I expected our lads to win this more easily than they are doing. However, as long as they are doing it. . .
