Thats a really nice comeback. When was the last time someone won a live rubber over a higher ranked player?

Not that I'm counting my chickens.

That was also vs Croatia in 2007 (the last time we went 3-0 up in a tie that is). Andy and Tim both won their matches on the first day, and then Henman and Jamie Murray won the doubles to seal it. After that the two dead rubbers were played and Andy defeated the Croat number two, whilst Jamie Baker played the fifth and lost to Cilic. But the tie was already decided by 3-0 after the doubles on Saturday, but the final score was 4-1 after all the rubbers had been played.

The last time GB won 5-0 in DC was in 2001, vs Portugal. We had Henman, Rusedski, Martin Lee and Lee Childs on the team. The Portuguese had Antonio Van Grichen, Bernado Mota, Emanuel Couto and Tiago Vinhas-Sousa. We were in a Group I tie and it was played in Birmingham. It took us to a next tie for promotion to the World Group, which we also won.

Just want to add that the tie vs Croatia, i.e. the last time we went 2-0 up going into the doubles which we later went on to win - that tie was also hosted in Britain, and on grass.

Wardy struggling big time for first serves now, and Ilhan is making him play a lot more.

Ilhan takes the third set 7-6(0).

Tennis is a strange sport.
