RE: VANDENBURG REQUIRES WOMEN ADVICE

Nottingham to Peterborough isn't that far, is it? Both in the East Midlands, unless my geography has gone awol.

And yes, they can work. Equally of course they sometimes do not, it depends on the two concerned really.

My girlfriend lives in Sydney, I live in Norwich. Now THAT's a long-distance relationship (sorry for being condescending, I've just really been wanting to use that phrase for months wink). C'mon Vandenburg, it'll work if it's meant to - now man up!

disbelief Yeah, tell me about it...maybe she'll relocate to Melbourne, I'll at least get free accommodation during the Aussie Open.

okie vandenburg girlfriend of 3 months is about to move away,so i need some realisitic advice from the ever impartial btn

Okie so the girl is about to move from my hometown of Nottingham to Peterbrough to work for a year.

my question is, is this classed as long distance relationship(in terms of distance) and do long distance relationships ever work for sustained periods?

serious advice only no jockers, not even from the knight.

who me? what gives you the impression i would ever make any joke about...oh wait, yeh i would! no

no seriously Peterborough-Nottingham can easily work providing your willing to put the effort in...a mate from uni has been making a Plymouth-London relationship work for over 2 years which is pretty impressive

Not that echoing everybody else is helpful, but it does depend on the people involved. The distances you're talking about are workable, but you both have to want to continue the relationship.

EDIT: I thought this question sounded familiar - you asked the same question last year! About a different girl!

Ah, Lady T, as I read this I was thinking too I'm sure Vandenburg has asked something the same before, so I'm not going mad...smile

Anyway, to the question, I agree that there is no reason why it shouldn't work if you do really share something.  The question may be how much you really want it to work long-term.  If you really do, stick with it, this should be merely a minor inconvenience in the short term.

Anyway, just my thoughts, agony uncle I am not....
