RE: Weeks 21 & 22: French Open (Roland-Garros) - red clay

Pennetta played well (unlike last year) so a commendable performance from Anne and a distinct improvement on the 2009 RG debacle

Bally reprises her AO partnership, but Sarah & Raquel are out of luck in the draw, taking on an experienced pair who have beaten them twice already this year

Doubles MD

Baltacha (GBR) / Dekmeijere (LAT) v Safina (RUS) / Szavay (HUN)
Borwell (GBR) / Kops-Jones (USA) v (12) Peschke (CZE) / Srebotnik (SLO)

Some interesting comments from Petchey and Smith about Anne - especially about her serve toss... Despite the scoreline, I think Anne should hold her head up high after that one. Flavia was really in imperious form in that match, and Anne gave it a decent shot, hitting some sumptuous forehands, and some lovely drop shots too. Hopefully this will partially erase some of the memories from last year...

Elena on 3rd on court 3. Is this a televised court does anyone know?

must admit Anne did play some nice drop shots but Pennetta was far too mobile around the court and exposed Anne. Annes is not that great on grass personally I hope she gets through next part of season injury free before travelling to USA for hard court season

Well the televised courts shown on Eurosport Player are Philippe Chatrier, Suzanne Lenglen, Court 1, Court 2, Court 3, Court 6, Court 7. wink

No chance of the Beeb covering it though I guess, with it on the same time as Murray - Gasquet.

Radwanska has been scurrying around letting Bally make the errors but Elena's length has become more consistent and she breaks serve to go *2-1 up in the second set.
