I see Black and Huber have evidently parted company after things didn't exactly go to plan in IW and Miami.

Had other partners since and these are new ones again this week.

Sarah and Raquel made a disastrous start, being bagelled in the first set, but have responded impressively to lead 5-1 in the second. However they have failed to close the set out

0-6 5-5*

So here cometh to the end any British woman participation during this week.
I can't remember the last time we had no one left to follow before Wednesday had been completed.
The last two weeks for British women has been pretty poor negated only by the performance by Jo Konta last week who still represents Australia.
It makes me wonder whether Roger Draper had sent a memo out to the British girls to request them to lose a few more matches to make the British men results look better.
Joking aside the performance of the girls last year at this time was very good considering most of them were playing on clay. However the grass court season results were less good.
Hopefully we can reverse that trend this year by having a much better grass court season.

Yes, it is a bit unusual to have all the GB women out when 4 GB men are left in tournaments and there isn't a men's tournament (only) in the UK.

Talk about unlucky - Anne was defending semi points here, as you all know, and the player she went out to in the FQR (Arn) has now, believe it or not, reached the semis! doh
