Good win there Cav, I thought this might have been a tricky one as I've heard the French Federation think highly of this girl, obviously no Cornet but a strong '91 none the less.
Fedossova has had a poor year, she was up as high as 107 in 2007 but since then has been slipping down slowly. This year she hasn't won two matches in a row and has only won 5 overall.
I'm going for Naomi in 2 tight sets, 6-4, 7-5?

Good luck to Anna too!! I hope she plays well and gets her confidence back after last week, not often she's going to get a chance to play someone that good.
Laura - I thought it would be tough but if Laura really is as good as everyone says she is then she should be coming through that one whether it's on grass or clay.
I would have said that Laura's was a much tougher assignment today than Cav's. Someone from tennis forum who was there today commented that Laura did play poorly following the first set making many unforced errors coupled with poor movement. Just a bad day at the office but yes a match she was favourite to win. Will be interesting to see how Bergot goes tomorrow against the number 2 seed.
It's clay, plus probably more pertinently Laura is still a bit inconsistent though getting much better, she is still just 16 and not far off the top 250.
As I have said before her best ( which is what I really take note of ) as distinct to her worst is very impressive and steadily getting better.
She will have surprise wins, she will have surprise losses.
The real deal still to me unless someone comes up with a hell of a lot more evidence otherwise.
