Don't worry, this is NOT intended to be a political thread - I'm sure politics (unless it is tennis-related!) is something best kept well away from this forum ...
... but I just have to say congrats to a former regular here who is now an MP after making one of the biggest against-the-national-swing gains in the country!
'Power' clearly hasn't changed him much because the first thing he talked about when he was interviewed on the BBC this evening was how pleased he had been to take some money off Ladbrokes after thinking the odds they were offering against him winning were far too generous! LOL
I'm not going to mention his forum nickname on this thread because even though I don't support the party he does, I don't think it's fair to give some possible unscrupulous future opponent an easy way to search through his posts on here looking for something unguarded he's said (*), but those of you who knew him when he was a regular here a couple of years ago might well be able to guess who I'm talking about and I thought the rest of you might just be intrigued to know that a former regular here is about to head off to Westminster.
Good luck to him - no doubt he'll need it!
(*) That doesn't mean I think he ever did say anything to be ashamed of - I don't remember him being one of the BT.net 'pun squad' for example - or that anyone would ever be sad enough to bother trawling through someone's posts on here, but I doubt any of us would like every single one of the things we've ever written on internet forums that we've visited for fun to be open to scrutiny, hence my caution.

No Lloyd-esque favouritism from me but Johnnylad and Vandenburg should know they should keep a date free in their diaries for our upcoming relegation play-off against the MTF troll squad
PS. has this former poster posted in the past year? otherwise i wouldn't know him from here anyway
yes but once back in the World Group we'd have to play the AM.com wit squad and i dont think we'd have much of a chance against them, especially with ASE around
yeh im all over this! i never dared tell anyone at the time but AM tried to make a illigal approach for my puns, proper tapped me up! was having none of it.
as well as his puns his knowledge of 80's music was also seen as an asset by the AM.com hierarchy - like Jonas Bjorkman he offers ability across different disciplines
