RE: Week 18 - ITF ($10K) - Edinburgh, GBR Clay

ACK. Eleanor had another chance for points and gets Babos. Shocker. Ah well.

And same for Fran. Does so well last week and then draws a potential rematch in R2 with Lisa should she go that far.

Magpies. That's what it is.

Surely a good chance for Mandy to bag another precious point & some confidence; good chance for Nicola too (Alex Walker beat her opponent easily earlier this year). Fitzy's opponent pushed NB to 3 in Havana, though lost here to Katie Gater last year - would be a good win if she can get it.

Some intriguing matches there, particularly the Rens going head to head. Eleanor should gain good experience against Babos, and it may be a reasonable time to play her, given that she hasn't played since injuring her ankle and retiring against Johanna Larsson in Jersey. The following article gives a bit of colour to Timea's life in England and plans

Fran on fire at the moment . Routine win for Lisa and Tara clearly not in love with either the freezing temperatures or the playing surface.

Joss takes first set from Jo H 6-1

Would Fran be on the top 25 table if she had 3 events?

Not yet. She picked up 4 points for last week in Bournemouth and 1 so far this week. At the moment, Helen Parish is in 25th with 11 points.

No, she's got 7 points from 2 events so far and would need 10-11 to make the GB top 25.

She made the semis last week, didn't she? That's where I got my 6+1 from anyway.

Samantha Vickers is due to drop to 10 points next Monday, which is the same as the number of points that Jennifer Ren and Olivia Smith have, though the first two of these players could get to 11 or more again one week later if they win at least one match this week.

Blimey, she did. I'm still suffering from the shock of last weeks results.

(I was going to edit my post, but realised you'd quoted it already.)

So a quarter or better in her next 10K would get her there?

Yes, unless a couple of the others just inside the top 25 or just outside it have scored more points by then too.
