clayfan, have you seen much of Slabba's matches over the past few days ? How do you think he's playing especially on clay ? I haven't watched any of his matches for some time so would be interested to know

I saw most of his 2nd round match last week and he was looking good, not too far off his form from Queens last year.  His opponent looked pretty handy too, although he lost in qualies this week and Slabba had to play well to win.

ITF has Rodrigues winning the 2nd round match 2 and 1, not Obry as Stircrazy must have mis-read.

Slabba has been looking back at his best. Fighting for every point and really up for it. Great result today. Sadly Cox could not get the better of Rodrigues but Rodrigues is an excellent player. Grassi will be a good test for Ward. I wasn't there today but I expect Eysseric will be the guy to watch here. Slabba with an outside chance.

It was the BBC who had Obry beating Rodrigues (and haven't corrected it since) - the results didn't appear onthe ITF or LTA sites until this morning and on the ATP site, even the draw hasn't appeared yet disbelief

So, Slabba v Eyserric in the SFs.

I was getting the impression that Slabba was recently getting back to something nearer his best form after seeming to take a long time after his time out last year.

It's good to see Josh and clayfan confirming this at first hand  smile

Mind you i cycled 20 miles for the Cumberland futures last year, straight thru Central London was a cracking day out!
