He is on a hiding to nothing. His least favourite surface and a $10k event. I saw him qualify for Wimbledon at Roehampton a couple of years ago. He is still fairly young....
If he feels he needs som eeasy wins under his belt, I'd suggest he stay off the clay.

The other guy who concerns me is Dan Evans - about a year ago it looked like he could be the real deal and be able to break into the top 100. I don't think anybody is holding their breath for that to happen. Its a shame.
