RE: Week 18 - Challenger ($100,000) - Israel Open, Ramat Hasharon - hard

not good at all from alex, was it down to low confidence? a lack of matches and wins recently?

But he had enough chances to take that match here and that pretty much brings a dire hard court swing to an end, 3 defeats on the bounce, ok all tough matches for opening matches, but its on to the clay soon where not much can be expected, then the grass when alex will have more serious points to defend in the summer.

It's the same that happened with Ward's tiebreaks last week

He had the opportunity at *5- whatever to serve it out, but both players lost both points

It seems that whoever's doing the live-scoring for Bet365 fails to realise that the players change ends during the TB!

Boggo & Grigor DIMITROV have just appeared on  livescore

lets hope he can salvage something from this tournament in the doubles

No live streaming for the doubles, I'm guessing. That's no surprise. Would be nice if Boggo could make a run in the dubs here.

EDIT: Ah, he's up against Weintraub. Amir's been visiting the Acropolis and the Parthenon recently, doing a bit of sight-seeing whilst in Greece for the tourney there. Will have the crowd support in Israel.

Ah, LS has just sputtered into life at 15-30, Bogtrov serving... no way to tell which one of them is serving though unless somebody makes an ace or double fault.

EDIT: No sooner do I say that then flashes up "DIMITROV - ACE #1 for the Team", an ace which incidentally held the first game from deuce.

Behr appears to be first serving on the other team, as he's just made a double fault. Actually he's just made two double faults and it's 0-30. 0-40, three break points! And Bogtrov break early! w00t.gif

Boggo serving now. 15-0, good start. 30-0, nice one. 40-0, could be a hold to love! Oops, second serve needed. Oh no... "Double Fault BOG - #1 for the Team". disbelief But he gets the hold in. 3-0 now.

Weintraub to serve. 15-0. 30-0, quickly getting through this one, keen to get something on the board. 30-15, Bogtrov trying to make it tough. 40-15 though, 40-30, 40-40 chance here!!! Bogtrov race ahead to a 4-0 lead!

Dimitrov serving. 15-0, "Ace DIMI - #2 for the Team"! 30-0 nice work there, 40-0 and three game points, 5-0!!! A very easy hold for Dimitrov! Geez it's been less than ten minutes since the start of play, surely?! Bogtrov going very well!

Behr getting another chance to serve... will Bogtrov serve him bakery products? 15-0, he won't be broken to love at least. 30-0, determined to escape the bagel. "Double Fault BEH - #3 for the Team"... he double faults a LOT this guy! 30-15. LS seems to have got stuck at this point. An impromptu injury time out for Behr/Weintraub perhaps?

Live scores have suddenly unstuck themselves and are showing 6-1 in the first set! A breadstick then, I'll take that!

Stats in the first set: Bogtrov have got a 1st serve percentage of 65% to their opponents' 56%. However, they're also winning 73% of points on 1st serve, compared to their opponents' 33%. On 2nd serve, Bogtrov are winning 63% of points, and they've saved both of the two break points against them. Overall so far they have won 64% of the points.

Weintraub serving first in the second set. 30-30. He gets broken! 0-1!

Dimitrov serving again for Bogtrov now, as it must have been Boggo who closed out the first set 6-1. 0-15. 0-30. 0-40, chance to get the break right back again! Second serve, this isn't so good. ... Hang on, "Double Fault BOG - #3 for the Team"??? Okay I guess that was Boggo serving! 1-1 now, all level.

Behr serving. "Double Fault BEH - #4 for the Team", this is beocming a familiar sight. 15-30, a chance to get the break once more! 15-40, two break chances. 1-2, they convert!

Okay, so if it was Boggo in that other game then now it should be Dimitrov serving. 15-0. 30-0. A break's not a break until you hold, they say. 30-15. 40-15, come on hold!!! 40-30, one game point left. Ah, LS just glitched again. 3-1.

Weintraub serving and since LS glitched we're already at 15-0. 30-0. 40-0, he's racing away with it! 2-3, with Bogtrov still a break ahead.

Boggo to serve again now. 15-0. 30-0, go on Boggo! 30-15 off his second serve. 30-30! HOLD, BOGGO!!! hmm 30-40, oh dear... "Ace BOG -#3 for the Team" YES!! That's it!!! Deuce. Uh oh 2nd serve again... PHEW! 4-2!

Behr serving... let's see if he'll gift a few more points to Bogtrov? I wonder if he's suffering nerves? 0-15... here we go again. Another break for Team Bogtrov on the cards? 0-30, it's looking likelier. 15-30. 15-40, two break points. 5-2 YESSSS!!! biggrin w00t.gif

Dimitrov to serve it out!!! aww 0-15. 15-15 "Ace DIMI - #4 for the Team"!!! Yes, that's the way to show 'em! Serve it out with aces!!! w00t.gifw00t.gifw00t.gif 15-30. 15-40, come on, come on.... 30-40 GOOD JOB!!! Deuce now please! GAAAAH! 5-3.

Weintraub serving to stay in the match. 15-15 already, another small glitch in LS. 30-15. 40-15, fighting to stay alive here! 4-5.

Boggo has a crack at serving it out. 15-0! 15-15, come on Boggo! 30-15!! 40-15, two match points! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! party.gifw00t.gifworship.gif

6-1 6-4 to Bogtrov! GOOD JOB, boys! aww

And all in 51 m 25s. Quick match! The first set was actually only 11m long.

Boggo finally remembers how to win a tennis match, albeit with a little help from a playing partner...! jawdrop.gif

That's a relief after the disappointment he must have suffered losing his singles match. Next round won't be easy.

If you mean that they should be facing the third seeds, h, then that's not the case:  'twill be the Belgo-Russian alliance of Ruben Bemelmans & Konstantin Kravchuk instead after they saw off Kirillov & Kudryavstev by 6-3 7-6(3) earlier today. wink Still ain't gonna be easy... no
