Why Nishikori? I can see why they'd give one to Ancic, but Nishikori is a virtual unknown to those who don't follow tennis that closely. (I realise that hasn't stopped them in the past though)

Nishikori is a clearly a talent they feel deserving of it, i remember when he spanked Ferrer at Flushing Meadow when he was 4 in the world. He also won an ATP title at 18 and pushed Nadal hard at Queen's 2008 - right in when he was in the form of his life
i guess if he's beginning to get back to that level he should be deserving of one, certainly more than a lot of the other young players i can think of
I've no problem with Nishikori getting a WC. He reached no.56 in the world after just turning 19. Then was out injured for more than a year. He came back last month, and has just romped home to 2 challengers titles back-to-back. He's very deserving I think.
Nishikori won't get a WC he's gonna make it into the main draw anyway. He's used his PR of 106 and is now the 3rd alt due to Del Potro withdrawing and the two SE's will be cleared as nobody in the RG final will be ranked outside the top 100. So i can see at least 3 players withdrawing of the 47 players participating (excluding Q's and WC's)
also think Boggo should go through qualifying, he's likely to be seeded quite high and should qualify as the cut is already down at 102 with 2 big challengers on that week too
Not being biased, but i'd like Eaton to get a WC for one of the ATP main draws. He shows no nerves compared to most brits and it is his best surface by far. ;)
