RE: Week 17 - ITF ($25K) - Brescia, Italy - Clay

Wow, must be a fantastic confidence boost and great start to her pre-Roland Garros red clay prep. Keep up the great work Naomi!

GBs new 'queen of clay' wink beats former world no 62 Stéphanie Foretz in Brescia to reach her 1st ITF Final since Orange in 2007!

SF: CAVADAY, Naomi (GBR) 8 194 beat FORETZ, Stephanie (FRA) 6 188 by 1 & 4 biggrin

This makes her virtually certain of a new CH on Monday week at around WR 180.

You wouldn't believe Cav only won her first senior match on red clay earlier this week!

Great news! Theoretically the decision to warm up on the British tour has really paid off

Excellent week for Naomi, rediscovering the form which took her to 3 consecutive Grade 1/2 Junior finals on clay in 2006. She actually went on from there to reach a 10K semi in Hungary on clay, so I think her coach must be under a misapprehension about it being her first senior win.

This is the type of form we know that Naomi has and was close to having before everything happened. Wonderful to see her finally coming together again biggrin.gif

Do the double! What a turnaround from Naomi! Finally the player we were waiting for is back and looking ready to mount a challenge on the top 100. Great stuff, shes clearly comfortable on the dirt.

Tremendous  smile

It's great to see and hopefully Naomi can take this form on into the final and subsequent tournaments.

Stunning results from Naomi. I've been so disappointed for a while with her results thinking she was going to fade away. This week shows for sure the talent Naomi has. Please let this be the start of a fruitfull period for her and a push toward the top 100.

Go get that singles title girl.
