I bet she's wishing it is a 50K.

Are we beginning to see the rebirth of Cav's career ?
Too early to say as this field seems particularly weak but certainly her level of performance is better this week. Then again when you have taken two steps backwards taking one step back in the right direction is good but not evidence that Cav is back where she needs to be.
Definitely a start though so well done.

Yes, Phil, you sort of ansered your own question though I'd go further.

Far far too early to judge

Though of course it would be great if it was some turning point  smile

Awesome; defends one of two 14 pointers from 25k QF of May '09.

If she beats the WC she practically defends them both, with 2 more events to go before the French, not bad!

Per Cav's twitter 'revenge'.
Does that mean shes won ?

edit: she won 6-4 6-4

will be much tougher in semi but 24 points cannot be sneezed at even if she was handed one of the best draws you could imagine.

Nice work Cav! Much better than her first encounter so hopefully a sign of improvement. Go for the title now!

Foretz is out of form really, not expecting a win but Cav is capable IMO

Good to see Naomi get the win, and turn round her her recent defeat against Remondina.

So first semi since Stockholm 25K more than a yeart ago.

Foretz should be a step up, though as murray says she doesn't seem in that good form so potentially winnable.  Hope to at least see a good battle.

Would be great to see Naomi reach the final.

Cav has had a pretty good day:  having beaten Courtney B Dolehide ( ) & Constance Sibille (USA/FRA) in tandem with her Russian playing partner, Anastasia Pivovarova,by 4-6 7-6(2) [10-5] to reach the quarter-finals of the doubles yesterday, she only went & did the "biz" again today:

SF:  (1) Han Xinyun & Zhou Yi Mao (CHN/CHN) WR 349 lost to (3) Naomi Cavaday & Anastasia Pivovarova (RUS) WR 451 by 5 & 3  biggrin

Final:  (3) Naomi Cavaday & Anastasia Pivovarova (RUS) WR 451 vs Iryna Kuryanovich & Valeria (BLR/RUS) WR 549
