Lisa's win today will almost certainly be enough to take her into the top 500 on Monday week - that'll give us 15 girls in the top 500 if nobody drops out - we haven't ended a calendar year with that many this century.

Great wins from Fran and Lucy (especially Fran over a seed). Strong scoreline from Eleanor, it would suggest she competed in that match, which is encouraging. Good to see Tara winning consecutive matches again - I have felt that she should have stepped down to 10ks for a while now, if only to boost her confidence before playing 25Ks and 50Ks agan.
Yes, tremendous wins for Fran and Lucy, I didn't see these coming.
Also, I do think that's on the face of it another very decent performance from Eleanor. I imagined Tara would be too strong for her at this stage, even a Tara not on top form. For a girl that just turned 14 yo at the beginning of the year, the future looks really good for her.
Overall really really encouraging from the young ladies here. To have a representative in every QF here and Lisa being the oldest at 18 along with two 17 yos and a 16 yo, combined with Eleanor's performances, is great.
The British womens game continues to go from strength to strength.
If Laura breaks the top 250, she would be about a month slower than current #2 Wozniacki, who did it at the age of (roughly) 16 & 3 months. Laura is about 16 & 4 months old, just to give some perspective!
