Great to see Anna showing the confidence to try her hand at 100k+h. I find it weird the qualifying points dont increase from 50ks! Hope to see her get some good wins now.
Yes, it is a bit strange that you get one point for qualifying for a 25K and then get the same six points for qualfying ( plus reward for winning qualifying matches ) for all tournaments from 50K to 100K + H.
I realise that the qualifying draws in particular do not always rise in quality commensurate to the tournament status ( indeed occasionally the reverse ), but logically you would have thought there might have been some variation in the qualifying points.
Anyway, 20 points here for a MD first round win, so if Anna was to say qualify and win her first round she would move up to 201 points and possibly into the world top 250.
She has nothing to defend until after Wimbledon, so if she doesn't do it in this week she's probably odds on making the top 250 in the following few weeks and laying down her marker for a Wimbledon WC . The rankings on 7th June are these that the LTA have said they will look at to see who is in the top 250 before making their WC recommendations.

Part of the reason for just 1pt in 25k's is no doubt that there are eight spaces availible, as opposed to just four at all other levels. You still think the pts there would vary though....they obviously do in the main draws!
2 wins in the MD would be enough to put her comfortably in the top 250, so a QF! I would be very shocked if she didnt get herself a WC into the MD, all things considered, even if she was outside the top 250.
It would be great to get a chance to see her play, Ive never seen more than a few glimpses of her game in all fairness. Am I right in thinking she has a game similar to Heathers in the sense shes a consistant hitter & a good mover rather than a very big hitter?
Brouleau I would expect to be a tough challenge were this on hard, but on clay I dont expect much of a challenge.

I certainly hope it is nothing too serious given how well things have been going for Anna. The first set score, being rather unexpected, does suggest that some problem was maybe effecting her during that set.
Having followed British tennis very closely for the last 18 months I have noticed that Anna just doesn't get injured so a surprise and hopefully not serious. No update from her on twitter either as to what the problem is.
