This tournament seems to hold the ash-induced LL record for now ... there have been a Torrent of w/ds here despite them delaying the main draw by a day and there are no less than 7 LLs before R1 has even started! The bad news is that Jocelyn Rae and Jade Windley are two of the very late w/ds cry.gif

This week has been a nightmare. I'm surprised that some tournaments even have full draws. Guessing they may have pulled some people off the street...

I am being facetious but the point still stands. Shame for Joss and Jade though to have to miss out cos a volcano won't take to a nicotine patch once in a while.

The Spanish were still really strict and wouldn't allow any late entries despite the ash!! Tried to get my daughter in as she has been waiting in Alicante for a week now. Would'nt let her in the G2 ITF either even though the draw wasn't full and she would have got into MD.  Might have got in if she was Spanish I guess!

I guess rules are rules unfortunately. Maybe this will teach the ITF ad WTA to introduce an "extreme travel" rule like the "extreme heat" rule in Australia
