L16: (Q) Josh Goodall WR 307 v (8) Ryan Sweeting WR 135
Due to start n/b 00.30 BST.
Sweeting beat Soeda 1 & 2 today so that is unlikely to have taken much out of him. 1.96 m tall (6' 5"), he is at a career high at the moment and beat Wardy 4 & 5 in Houston qualifying earlier this month. He is 4-0 against Brits (Bloomers and Baker twice were his other GB opponents) without dropping a set.
I forgot to mention that Josh's R1 win has taken him into 3rd place in the GB 'race' (points scored so far this year), overtaking Chris Eaton but still with only about half the points that 2nd placed Boggo has picked up in 2010.

Not-so-Sweeting is becoming a bit of a Brit-basher, 10 sets without reply
It's been a good tournament for Josh though - the last-surviving GB man (we were 0-4 on Wednesday in the end ), the only Brit to beat a higher-ranked player in a main draw this week, and now back in the top 300.

I was surprised to hear Josh is 3rd best scorer this year. It shows
1) It really has been a bad year
but
2) perhaps some others are underperforming to a greater extent and he's been a little harshly treated
Are they all staying for Savannah and Sarasosta?
Well, as I remember someone else saying in another post earlier this week, the first couple of months weren't too bad (having been dire in 2009) but the last couple of months have been dire.
