It's looking much better now! smile

QR1: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) WR 474 beat YONEMURA, Akiko (JPN) 2 WR 311 by 2 & 3 biggrin "I won 2+3,played well+was surprisingly efficient.hongkongi or ruski 2mro.off to find something vaguely edible after 4 days of plain rice :)"

She means Hongkongi or Belaruski (Anna Orlik) of course.

Wow, that's Em's best win in probably a year or more. Nice one!

So she's beaten Robbo's old junior dubs partner (they won Eddie Herr together) and now takes on one of the Pliskova twins Laura played in AO juniors this year - fortunately the one she beat in the semis not the one she lost to in the Final!

Pliskova has been in decent form since that match against Robbo so will start the favourite.

Wow, well done Emily! Nice reward too ...

L32: (8) Mel South WR 235 v (Q) Na Ri Kim (KOR) WR 502
L32: (Q) Emily Webley-Smith WR 437 v (Q) Min-Hwa Yu (KOR) WR 873

Edit: Beaten to it wink but this post has more up to date rankings on it and the (Q) on Mel's opponent so I'll leave it here.

So glad Webbers gets a good draw as reward as she only gets one point for beating three good players and qualifying.

Wow! That'll teach me for being cynical about Ms Webbers results - nice one, and long may it continue. :)

Bit worried about Mel's draw tho. R1 should be OK, but R2 could be tough - either Hsieh who plays little singles but won a 25k last Autumn and has been top 80 (though Jade beat her last year of course) or So-Jung Kim, who reached the semis last week and who trounced Sacha Jones at Fed Cup... And then she'd face the top seed, Chan (92) who beat Voegele, Lepchenko and Dubois before meeting Bally in R2 at Indian Wells. Tough.
