Great stuff. After a real battle between the two of them for the first 2 sets, Heather really pulled away there at the end
Main draw of a WTA Premier through her own qualification efforts and flying in from playing 800 miles away the day before her Q1, so little time for prep. Impressive !
Awesome - two more wins here, and it should be enough to see her into the French Open qualifiers, and given she's actually been playing on clay rather than avoiding it like most Brits, a chance of doing something when she gets there! The possible Q v Q spots give her a good chance of doing so too.

HUGE. Amazing win against a fellow prodigy who, although is a year younger, has much more experience as a professional. I guess we're going to start calling Heather the '3 Set Warrior' because her record is truly impressive. Hopefully she can work on playing the big points as well as possible because the top players really won't be very forgiving.
Anyway, that's 12 points in addition to the 15 points earnt in Missisippi this week. Therefore she's upto 110 points and, at worst, will be at 351 in a week's time. Here's how the points go:
Yes, it's great to look at possibilities. Certainly with a good draw the 40 additional points for reaching the L32 is very possible, but who knows...
Disagree by one point, being pernickety 82 + 15 + 12 = 109 points ( edit, ah, do you get the one point for 1st Round main draw as well in WTA ( Premier ) events ? )
Re RBBOT's point, surely she needs 3 main draw wins at least, i.e. reach the quarter finals to get into Roland Garros qualifiers. I would have thought the required mark would have been well under 270th place in the rankings. Or is it quite a bit higher for the French Open ?

In the WTA rankings, if you lose in R1 after qualifying, you only get the qualifying points, so your calculation is the more accurate one.

I've got at the back of my mind that in one of the Grand Slams the qualifying draw is 128 women ( 16 qualifiers ) and for the rest 96 women ( 12 qualifiers ) but, assuming this is the case, i don't know which is the 128 women draw.
Clearly better chance of getting into French qualifiers if it is the 128 women draw.
