I was out during the match so missed following it live. So first of all thanks very much to those who have given so much score detail, it is much appreciated and really shows how the match progressed.
Does indeed look to have been a tremendous competitive effort by Heather, beaten in the end by the slightly better overall player on the day. But when that's a player of Vesnina's proven ability ( and who just last week lost the her Ponte Vedra WTA semi on green clay 1 - 6 7 - 6 (4) 6 - 4 to Wozniacki ) then she can be pretty proud of that.
Great experience for Heather, and not so far off a possible winning experience. She does seem to be finding a whole new level and on varying surfaces.
