Lisa Whybourn should be here in the main draw, following a few "what on earth possessed me to enter tournaments in Kazakhstan" type tweets this week and then yesterday's "has been stuck in germany over night due to wrong visas...what a schoolboy error!!!"
Hopefully she'll get there, she was doing really well towards the end of last year and it would be good to see her starting to move up the rankings again.

Lisa, the Kazakhstani tourist board phoned and they're releasing you from your contract. You can pick up your uniform when you come to collect your paycheck...

We wish you well in all your endeavours.
I belive Lisa is in Kazakhstan for a couple of weeks. This could be quite entertaining
Yes, her tweets are great and they could get even more scathing because someone (one of the Naomis? - not sure) tweeted her last week that Astana is a great place compared to Almaty where she will be the following week.
Her draw looks good though - the other seed in her quarter is the lowest she could have got (i.e. no 8) and apart from Lisa, her R1 opponent the other seed, all the other players in her quarter are Qs or WCs.

Aha, it was one of the Naomis - Cav - her coach has just tweeted:
"@lisawhybourn have you found the supermarket around the corner from the hotel? There's also a shopping centre 10 mins walk from the site. Let me know if you want anymore info and I'll email it to you - don't starve over there!!"
