unfortunately the past is always dragged up. its never forgotten, Dan being dropped for a short time will always be there, we are still regularly reminded that Boggo was dropped from the LTA, what in 2004, and he was dropped not for going out partying during a tournament, but cause he was too sick to go to the airport and meet Jeremy Bates, to prove he was sick! how twisted was that logic. And this was on the back of him reaching a challenger QF and he missed a Greek futures as a result.

Unfortunately people are far, FAR too quick to judge a person, to condone or condemn them permanently based on a moment's assessment, regardless of whether they have all the facts, or have misinterpreted a situation, and even if an accusation is untrue sometimes simply the existence of accusation can be enough. The press constantly stirring things up only adds to this. Even if a person does make a mistake and do something wrong, that doesn't make them a terrible person - it makes them human - and they don't deserve to be blackened permanently for all time onwards.
People are far too quick to assume they know a person based on a single article they've read or one incident that happened on one day.
Geez, Dan may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but he's not an axe murderer, press and LTA need to stop treating him like a pariah, it's not good for the kid's mental stress. He needs confidence in his game and his decisions and his mental state, otherwise he won't progress, it's already handicapping him thsi past year.
