Mel's opponent won a $25k & $10k and got the final of several other tournaments last year... but only seems to play in the Far East... she's only played Fed Cup so far this year where she played 3 matches (won 2 (against Erakovic & Gumulya) lost 1 (against Morita)). Let's hope Mel can find some form here....

Just noticed Lee went on to win this one, Mel being the only person to take her to a tiebreak, let alone get a set. Not bad when ill! Every result has a story to it...
