Yep unlike Indy I'm not surprised Boserup was very impressive against Bally and in her last qualifying match so this was a very tough draw for Heather. One which unfortunately she couldn't overcome.
Q3: WATSON, Heather (GBR) 14 406 lost to BOSERUP, Julia (USA) 564 2-6 0-6
Err wow. My predictive powers certainly a bit out ( though I did note her other GB girl meetings and the bakery products she served out to the no 6 seed here, just still overall felt Heather would probably overcome )
A minor glitch though I feel for Heather in her overall progression and maybe just a bad day at the office for her ( though I hope also a very good Boserup performance ) as she is still capable of having eg. like agianst Georgie Stoop quite recently.
She's still very young and has showed before she certainly has bouncebackability ( if that's not a word it should be ).
I just hope she just is well advised re breaks etc in the near future, dependant on upcoming results.

And yes, looking at the other tournaments this week I kind of wish she would get the hell out of these american 25ks though. For example she would probably be in the Main draw or a top seed in the 50k in Russia, the qualie draw is extremely weak but the main draw is practically the same level.

I had the same thought until I saw where the tournament is being played. It's in the middle of Siberia and probably costs more to get there than you could possibly win!
Re Bouncebackability, this was a phrase first used by Ian Dowie whilst manager of Crystal Palace. Soccer AM ran a campaign where they tried to get it accepted into the OED, but I don't know if they managed it.
Heather won her doubles playing with Ditty against the number 2 seeds 7-5 0-6 10-4.
After getting the hard bit right (their combined ranking is 545, compared with the second seeds' 130), they proceeded to bomb out in the QF against the US WCs, Julia Cohen & Alison Riske (WR 903), by 3 & 3! Talk about a bad reaction! Worse still, Cohen & Riske promptly handed a walkover in the semi-final to the third seeds!
