How's that for a prime piece of backstabbing? I don't know how he has the nerve! (and I actually did think he was a nice guy before this!)

What a prize ****

If the guy stopped following Murray round the Grand Slams commentating and actually concentrated on the DC job 100% we may have stood more of a chance.

Aww, diddums it will be a blemish on his career will it.  Seems appropriate then since he didn't do a very good job.

Remind me who excused Boggo's participation ?

www.dailymail.co.uk - I wouldn't put much faith in anything being even remotely accurate.

You are probably right to be cynical about the Daily Mail, whose prime purpose seems to be to work up Middle England into a furious rage about New Labour, immigrants, welfare scroungers, gipsies, the Civil Service, local councils, unions, etc, etc ...

... but there is a very strict code of conduct for the Press, which basically means that John Lloyd really did say everything which is quoted as direct speech. The journalist would certainly have recorded the interview too, in case of any complaint about misrepresentation

I read the mail comment and thought he had a point to be honest.

It seems ok for Andy to pop over top Dubai, do a bit of stuff, lose a match and pick up a nice fat cheque.

But he can't be arsed to play for a couple of hours in DC.

I think the comments re the the England team are relevant. For me, you either play for your country or you don't.

I used to really like Andy but now I'm not so sure.

Would you rather Andy won a grand slam of GB got out of Africa zone B Division 8 or whatever it is now?

Lloyd looking to shift blame again

Well I would like him to do both.

You see him going to Dubai, picking up a large cheque and asking yourself whats the difference to popping over and playing DC.

For me its money but im sure you will find something else.

I think the big difference is that tennis is not a team game (so the Rooney comparison is a bit lame).

We suddenly expect tennis players to change their individual schedules to suit their nations.
Lets not forget every top player has dropped out of DC ties and also that Lloyd accepted Murrays decision at the time and is now moaning about it

Yup. At the end of the day if he had the humilty and people skills ot pick Boggo we would probably have beaten Poland and definitely have beaten Lithuania

Look at Federer and Nadal

One of them wants to win slams and the other will bust a gut to win in DC.

I know who I want in my corner.

And I can see it already but Spain are already close but we are miles away. For me, Rafa would always play if fit because he plays for his country and never for himself.

Rafa doesn't have to waste his time and energy travelling half way round the world to play world #800.

Andy has a commitment to play 4 x 500 tournaments, Dubai was one of them.

Give it a rest, we all know where the real blame lies. I expect if Evo had managed to live up to billing we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Sorry, but JL was a big subject of contention well before Evo lost that final rubber  ( including with regards to Evo even playing that final rubber ).

And discussions will continue as long as folk want to discuss  smile
