R1: STEWART, Catriona (GBR) UNR lost to SCHOFIELD, Gira (USA) Q UNR by 2 & 2
Pity, it's not often you get a chance to play another unranked qualifer for a ranking point.
There are unranked qualifiers and unranked qualifiers, and Gira is... well, actually she's one of the ranked ones, but that's new this week.
Like Catriona she has (I hope) just graduated from an American university, but she played number 1 for a better team than the one Catriona was a bit part player for. Gira's college record is comparable to Nik Slater's or Sam Murray's. I don't think Catriona stood a chance. Hannah did exceptionally well to take a set off her in the qualies.

This all comes from google of course, I have zero personal knowledge of anything, so do your own research.

What uni was Cat at?
Harvard. If it's tennis you're interested in, for some reason gocrimson.com seems to have severe memory problems, but although CTO is now in its death throes, it's still good for past seasons.
Sister Sabrina also going Ivy league, to Dartmouth. (They are sisters, aren't they? I said they were on tennisforum.com, and it would be embarrassing if it turned out all this was a load of old wotsits.)
