That, Indy, while I have to agree with it, is an appallingly sad, depressing & damning indictment of British men's tennis in 2010. At least there's a glimmer of hope on the women's side. As OEM's article in today's Times points out, the girls receive less money, yet, under Nigel Sears' guidance, they offer some grounds for optimism.
Oh, I think more than a glimmer on the women's side even without the exciting prospect of watching Laura and Heather develep.
Bally and Anna in particular at rather different levels are having seasons we couldn't have imagined, Anne may soon be back up there with Elena. Also the two Naom's flatter a bit to deceive but I'd like to think more will come from them this year and that Katie, Mel and Georgie will find more again in their games.
Yes Knight. There is a challenger level tournament listed for week beginning November 8th at the Gosling Tennis Centre in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. Apart from this the only Challengers are Jersey and Nottingham. Manchester is downgraded this year probably to be more useful for most of the British players!
