RE: Week 12 - ITF ($25K) - Jersey, Great Britain Hard

Tara's match was moved but to the other court where they had the camera. However they turned the camera off straight after the last scheduled match had finished and when I checked the link later on it was showing some foreign football match.

Naomi will probably have to be near her best to beat Hogenkamp.
Anna's ranking appears to have dropped into the 15000's but that shouldn't affect her chances. I would call that match 50/50.

I would love to know who apart from Jade and Webbers have got the wild cards as Mandy has turned up in the draw in Turkey so methinks unless there are two Mandy Carreras there must be two free ones left.

Me too, Phil, considering the two logical GB WC choices are competing in the FQR.

Rant on hold  wink.gif

If I was a betting man, I have a few pence on Jade Curtis and Amanda Elliott. But only a few pence.

That would be the logical conclusion assuming they are in Jersey.
Is it possible either Anna or Naomi were asked if they wanted the last two wild cards and declined ?
I doubt it.

It's up to Anna and Naomi to ask: http://www.lta.org.uk/Resources/Competition/Female%20Wild%20Card%20Information%20Pack_.xls (I've got to get going soon, so I've quoted that without rereading it, so apologies in advance if...). That's rather academic for the matter at hand, of course.

Naomi got one here last year, and some better ones in the grass court season. It's entirely possible the political situation has deteriorated still further in the intervening period, I guess. Hard to think what Anna's offence might be unless she's finally decided her Fed Cup future lies with her mother's kin and is in transition to a new nationality, so I'm tempted to think she didn't ask or is saving up credit for the summer.

Thanks for that Embittered.

I guess without knowing whether WCs were actually asked for, I might save for now on any further ranting.
