Keep it there. She's disappeared again. I'm guessing she has retired. cry

Georgie Bastick has disappeared in a puff of smoke
Is the tournament sponsored by Mr Benn?

Georgina's score re-appeared for a minute showing 0-6 for the first set. Now it's showing Riner v Barbat again!

Maybe the scoreboard is being operated by Mr Bean!

If Georgina's scoreboard is correct, she has broken back in the second set to make it 1-1.

Johanna won her break back, then lost her serve straight away 3-5*

I doubt it - he'd get addicted to pressing the buttons and it would 23-16 in the 9th set ;)

Edit: on the other hand, you may be right - for a moment just now, we had Oliver Golding playing in the womens' qualifiers.

Ozga was serving for the match at 5-2 against Johanna. However, Johanna had broken, held and had 3 bps before finally succumbing.

Qr1: KONTA, Johanna (AUS/GBR) 403 lost to OZGA, Justine (GER) 14 344 6-3 6-4 cry

Oh, I see what you mean. I don't know the answer to but would presume you're right, especially seeing as Sfar is listed as a WC so its not that they just haven't bothered to specify who has one.

I've lost the thread here (Monday morningscry), so apologies if I'm going down a blind alley. I think Sfar will have needed a WC because she didn't sign in (perhaps she rang up and said "can't get a flight, not going to make sign-in" and the organiser said "that's OK, you can have a wild card")--I think the others signed in and it turned out after sign-in that they got in (not atypically) on ranking, so didn't need the wild cards. As for whether Mr Martens' system will credit them with an extra wild card, well, you'd need someone who actually knows what they're talking about to answer that, and that's not me.

I would concur with that opinion.

I really have lost the thread. Which opinion?

Philwrig is concuring that he believes Walker, Seaborne and Hope Johnson will not have lost any WCs from their quota available to them this year, seeing as they got in the draw directly.  Your explanation re Sfar seems likely, I was just highlighting that sometimes none of the WCs are recognised on the drawsheet while here this wasn't the case as Sfar has WC next to her in the draw.

Konta lost 6-3 6-4 and seems the scoreboard is back up to its tricks as Broady was leading Whybourn 3-0 but its now back to 1-0 despite them having played for 20 minutes.

Decent fightback by Jo at the end but far to late in the day to start playing your best tennis. Hopefully though played herself into better form.

Lisa struggling against Naomi as expected 5-2*.
Scoreboard is to say the least acting in an unpredictable manner.

Intriguing battle this between Lisa and Naomi. Lisa started to show signs of life towards the end of the first set nearly fighting her way back into it and she has continued that momentum into the second and is a break up leading 2-1.

Oh, that makes sense, as much as anything makes sense on a Monday. Sorry.blush.gif

Broady beat Whybourn  6 - 4  6 - 4.

If Naomi was playing towards her best, it does seem to have been a pretty encouraging performance from Lisa

Hopefully she will soon be back to her form during the latter part of last year and picking up a good number of ranking points again.
