Reasonably comfortable and good opportunity to go further.

Anna marches on.  But good to have seen possible signs in Jersey of a turnaround in EWS's fortunes.

Anna definitely overtaken Laura now to be GB no 8.

Em is a player I really wish big things for as she has had a tough time of it injury wise. However I guess in the great scheme of things Anna's win was necessary for her to continue to push upwards. I have been so impressed by her consistency this year. From what I have seen of her game (admittedly on her first round match in Bratislava last year that was streamed live) Anna seems to have the weapons to crack the top 300 and hopefully beyond.

Apparrently Mel lost 6-3 4-6 3-6.... so it's all down to Anna.

Sad for Mel at least it was a close match.
I'd even make Anna a slight favourite to win this QF.

A bit of positivity. That's not like you Phil. I reckon you've been making hay before the tax hike on cider comes in! smile.gif

I'd like to feel I'm a realist most of the time with a slight sprinkling of pessimism. Anna only has to play at the same level as she has been playing this week to win that match IMO. I was shocked to see the size of the tax rise on cider. What has the government got against cider drinkers. It must have sent shockwaves through the west country.

Yes, we're all hoping for a run on cider, followed by lifetime addiction to secure the future of the west country. wink.gif

Re Anna, fingers crossed that she'll keep the run going.

It is she  smile

That match was so close, and as I said earlier in the thread, until this week, her activity shows her hardly winning a match since the US Open.

Definitely a reasonable chance that Anna can pull off a win here if she can give it her best shot.  I'd expect a pretty close match.

I get those Czech types with names beginning with H all mixed up.

Hrdinova, Hlackaova, Hradecka. They always seem to be around the same ranking.
