One of the competitors for longest (and most pretentious) titled junior tournaments sees both our girls do battle with finalists from last week's Grade 4 event in Brunei. If successful they both have tough assignments in round 2 against the top seed (Khromacheva) and number 3 seed (Saisai Zheng)
Boys R1 (L64)
James Marsalek (GBR) v (Q) Zhaoyi Cao (CHN)
Girls R1 (L64)
(SE) Hitomi Naito (JPN) v Manisha Foster (GBR) Jessica Ren (GBR) v (SE) Kanika Vaidya (IND)
All three acquitted themselves well in round 1 but are up against it in the second. James appears to have the best chance, though his opponent is the one who beat Liam and Tom in the semis/finals of the Slovak Grade 2.
