RE: Week 11 Futures - Great Britain F4 ($15k) - Bath

Bit disappointed to see Josh lose to Martin as that was a very winnable match for him, but it looks like he made far too many errors to have a chance.

Ward looks to be having a great week and has a shot at Martin, and he if plays to his best he could get the win, but I'd expect there not to be any Brits in the final this week.

Josh is reporting from Bath. Looks like Wardinator capitulated after losing the first set.

Martin beat Ward 7-5 6-0. cry

Pity, but good points earned for the Wardinator this week, and once they are added ( even without any more next week ) he should be closing in on the top 600.

The blame can't be laid at the foot of any one player, but it's pretty shocking that we didn't get a finalist here when after Kontinen's w/d, we had 6 of the 7 players left in the bottom half and the one who came through with a triple Brit bash was ranked 342.

That's 9 wins in a row against Brits for Martin, including 5 in the last two weeks. The only consolation might be that if the Final is late enougn, he might not be able to get to Jersey Q sign in! wink

Why am I not surprised?

Kamil Capkovic & Andrej Martin (SVK/SVK) WR 972 defeated Tim Bradshaw & John Millman (AUS) WR 1090 by 7-6(1) 6-3  cry

Andrej Martin beat top seed Sijsling WR 186 to complete the double here, which in some ways makes his triple Brit bash a bit less embarrassing, especially for Josh, who took him to 3 sets.
