Groth v Rba. Groth won the first set, Rba has just won the second. Groth then demolished his racket with 4 big hits into the court. Carbon fibre flying everwhere.

Kind of as expected.  But great to see the Wardinator getting some more real reward for the clear improvement he has made this season and for all the matches he has played.

Now would love him to take out Martin and reach the final.

Bautista-Agut beat Groth 6-2 in the third set.

A real contrast of styles. Groth hitting big and winning loads of points with his serve. R B-A has a weak serve compared to most other players at Bath, but his all-round game play was much better than Groth's. The match also got a big niggley too. Groth complained a few times about R B-A's time wasting, and as the match went on lots of loud grunting first from R B-A, then from Groth.

It would be good to see a re-match.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I know Martin has just beaten Josh, but Josh seemed to lose most of the points rather than Martin winning them. Alex was watching and hopefully learning from Josh's mistakes.

Doubles semi-finals:

Dan Evans & Sean Thornley WR 1455 lost to Kamil Capkovic & Andrej Martin (SVK/SVK) WR 972 by 1 & 2 cry

Burnham Arlidge & Chris Priddle UNR  lost to Tim Bradshaw & John Millman (AUS) WR 1090 by 4 & 3 cry

Again, kind of as expected, but a bit disappointing to have only a 25% Brit interest in the final.  Still, better than nowt at all, I suppose... hmm
