Hi Maddog, yes the problem has been noticed and i believe being looked into.

Thanks Count.  I missed my lunchtime browse of the site.  So whilst I'm on and I guess those who need to know will read this at some point:

A big thanks to all who contribute to the site.  I have been hooked since Chris Eaton had his Wimbledon run and it got me wondering about the lower ranked British players and I found this site.  It's fascinating watching the ups and downs of futures tennis................or maybe I'm just a saddo. confuse

Mind you fair play to Baltacha and Keothavong who have had some excellent results in the past 12 months.

Being a football fan first and foremost, I guess our British tennis players are like lower league footballers, very good on their day but inexplicably rubbish the next, as Chris has proved with his Wimbledon run and then the recent defeat to a County player.***

***No insult meant to Mr Lester, who I am sure played really well.

From BBC

disbelief  I give up!  The dozy b*ggers were reporting on the progress of Roger Söderling & Simon Gruel in Indian Wells yesterday...  I reckon there was a joke about good King Wenceslas trapped in the latter somewhere & screaming to get out! wink

I'm sure the many lower league football fans we have here will agree with that.  How Wycombe can go from dominating Leeds at Elland Road to being thrashed at home to Yeovil a few weeks later is beyond me.

Hopefully Goodall has got over his drop in form and can beat Martin tomorrow to give the all Brit semi-final.

Thanks maddog - wondering what on earth happened to the lower-ranked Brits from one Wimbledon to the next was what prompted me to start tryingto follow the lower-ranked Brits a few years ago - goodness knows how anyone managed it in pre-Internet days!

You're right about consistency being a huge issue with the lower-ranked Brits - just when we think one of them is on the verge of a big breakthrough, they seem to start a long slump. Still, it's worth it when players like Murray, Keothavong, etc, come through and you've been following their progress since they were ranked well outside the top 500!

It hasn't appeared anywhere yet - we've only got results for the first two matches on each court and a third (women's) match on one of the courts that finished quickly.

Shame for Eaton to push RBA so close and be edged out in the end and it looks like a match that came down to one point in the tiebreak but some signs ahead of Jersey next week where he probably has a decent shot of a wild card or qualifying.

Another disappointing loss for Evo and he is going to have to do something special next week or he will be dropping down the rankings quickly, although some good signs for Josh and he should be looking at reaching the final here now.

Would expect Ward to beat Priddle tomorrow and get to the semi's, but it hasn't been a good start to the year for Cox and he is also in need of some points from somewhere.

Such a shame for Chris :(.  Giving the inform spaniard a battle today. Like its been said, probably only a couple of points in the tiebreak that decided it. Promising though after losing in Sutton last week to Nick Lester, to then push someone ranked 230.

Hopefully he can take positives from it into next week.
