Most of the Q draws were quite kind really. Glatch is perhaps on the kinder end of a kind spectrum.

Yes, I noticed that too, but it's probably because the 32 seeds all got byes to R2, so there wasn't anyone that scary left to get in R1.

Bally is just boundless right now. Really hope she reaches second round after qualifying. Her year has been great to date. Her coach has certainly done something right to unlock the potential she's always had. No reason at all why she can't make the top 50 now.

Arguably Anne would have better off in qualifying earning 30 ranking points and keeping hold of one of her 6 protected ranking slots.

That was a tough match for Bally nearly 2 hours and I had the feeling the other girl was getting on top at the end of that second set. But typical Bally she found just enough to force home the win when it mattered.
