Bally has now broken the 1000 ranking point barrier, but the most impressive thing is that she's averaged nearly 50 points a week (even including weeks she didn't play) since the start of 2010 - that's top 25 standard! (as a caveat, she has had some very decent draws over that period, but it's still one heck of a start to the year )

You were right after all Steven. What does the crystal ball say about the next round?
At 7-7 I couldn't get onto BT.net and in a desperate attempt to find out who had taken the match went to tennisforum.com but got a 'server error' message - so very frustrating having followed a match almost from start to conclusion! After pressing F5 tens of times this was great news to come back to! Bally Bally Bally... OI OI OI!
As far as I can tell, no Brit has won back to back matches in a Tier 1, Prem Mand or Prem 5 since before 1995 ... but who was the last Britsh woman to beat someone in the top 10? (I'm probably going to kick myself for forgetting when one of you reminds me!)
