RE: The next DC captain ...

But if Murray isn't going to be playing in Euro/Africa Zone 2 ties, then it shouldn't make a difference whether he gets on with the captain or not.

If Murray decided he wanted to play at this level, or we got promoted back towards the world group with Greg as the captain, then it may become an issue, but with Murray not playing at the moment then realistically Murray should have no input on the captain or the squad if he won't play.

And just because Murray doesn't get on with Greg supposedly it shouldn't stop them being on the same team - I doubt Murray would ever need/want any captain to tell him what to do so it wouldn't affect his on-court performance.

Im not so sure what greg could do that lloyd cant! its not like her can pick different players or get a man city transfer budget...
but i still think greg should come in, just as hes a nice guy, will bring positivity and just something fresh.

Showing any sort of emotion or encouragement when things are going wrong and opening the door for Boggo to return would be a good start.

David Lloyd: 0-5

Yes, except that David Lloyd is 0-4.

Andrew Castle has the same record as Captain Mainwaring. (well, an Arthur Lowe played for GB about 100 years ago and he went 0-5 too!)

Don't panic!

Are these the same names that give their 'expert' opinion?

As if Tim would lower himself to check out how his potential players were doing in Challengers, etc ...

doesn't seem to be a necessary requirement though, how often did Lloyd do that. just rock on up to the slams, which coincided with qualies.

I believe if Tim was given the job he would put alot of effort into following the form/talking to our lower ranked players. He was very professional as a tennis player why wouldn't he be the same as a DC captain.

I guess there's a chance you're right there. Let's hope so, if he gets it.

Oh No! That is all we need. A good old Times vs Telegraph scoop pitting Tim and Greg against each other for the "coveted" prize! Greg speaks his mind. Probably a bit too much for Andy and the LTA. Andy thinks he knows more about tennis than anyone on the planet. Coaches, "experts" and prospective Davis Cup captains beware! Tim might get on better with the guys, but if he got it, I would love to read Greg's Twitter page!Seriously, though, this could generate a lot of acrimony we don't need.

If he wouldn't take time to speak to younger players back then, why would he start now? Oh of course ££££££'s
At least Greg used to sit and watch and offer advice to younger players.
