The first of two fairly weak Grade 2s in South Africa sees Jennifer Ren make a stopover between South American and Asian tournaments. Fran Stephenson has drawn the short straw of the top seed.

Jen continues to hand out the bakery products, but there are disappointing losses for Chris and Jo. Jen should find that star 1996 girl Indy De Vroome provides a much stiffer challenge.

It proved quite comfortable for Jen, who now faces a South African who has similarly cut a swathe through the bottom half of the draw, dropping only a handful of games
