Well there's hope still for Wardski, and Big Bad Domski too then.

also skupski has 'ski'at the end of it hinting of eastern decent, so he will also have a great doubles year,

my logic is far above any one on here.

don't forget Baltacha

I like it Vandenburg.
With that rationale, consider yourself shortlisted for the DC Captain job!

Great to see Boggo coming through another tough match and he seems to be making a habit of this which would be something given what he has put us through in the past.

Great shot of a quarter final now which would push that ranking back towards the top 100 and another shot at Beck who he must be due to beat again at some point.

Terrific win for Dom & David Martin in the doubles, too (can't be @rsed to work my way through all boy-type attempts at humour on the earlier pages, so no idea whether it's already been reported wink ):  they dumped out the fourth seeds, Emmrich & Siljeström (GER/SWE), by 6-4 3-6 [10-8]! biggrin They face the unseeded Pierre-Ludovic Duclos & Stefano Galvani (CAN/ITA), in the QF.  In with a chance, I'd've thought... pray.gif

I was very tempted to put a bet on when I saw that Ilhan was the favourite for that match, but I didn't want to put a hex on Conor! (the BOTB rankings suggest my predicting isn't too bad, but the handful of times I've put a few £ on a tennis match, usually in conjunction with getting video streaming and sually as a 'free' bet, my pick has always lost!)

Ilhan did get a lot closer this time though.

Brkic is ranked outside the top 1000 but is only twenty years old, so how well has he done in juniors?

Junior career high 155, he beat Dan Smethurst in 3 sets in Orange Bowl qualifying in 2007, a year in which he won a grade 4 tournament and a grade 5.

He turned 20 yesterday and has a CH of 1256.

His record against Brits is:

Jan 2009 - beat Thomas Knights 2 & 3
Nov 2008 - lost to Josh Milton 1 & 2
Oct 2008 - beat Matthew Pearce 1 & 6 then lost to Jonny Kinsella in 3 sets in Glasgow
Jul 2008 - beat Pierre Clad 3 & 1

Ok, the most recent match on that list is from over a year ago, but in his two Futures matches this year, he lost 1 & 4 to Pavic WR 753 and in 3 sets to Kellner WR 324, which suggests an improvement but not a huge one.

So I've got no idea how he managed to beat Lojda - he had taken a set off him last September, but lost the next two sets 0 & 1.
