Excellent - this win should make absolutely sure that Anna hits a new CH on Monday week
QF: (8) Anna Smith WR 350 beat (1) Iryna Kuryanovich (BLR) WR 225 by 6-1 7-6(3)
SF: (8) Anna Smith WR 350 v (3) Anaïs Laurendon (FRA) WR 247
24-year-old Laurendon won her last 10K (in Grenoble in January, the only other event she has played at this low a level since March last year) and thrashed Laura Robson 1 & 1 in Nantes Q late last year. Anna has met her once before, in Hechingen Q last August, when she lost 3 & 0. Laurendon hasn't lost to a Brit since 2005, when she lost to Holly Richards in 3 sets in Surbiton Q and got thrashed 1 & 1 by Alice Mackenzie in Montechoro - she has obviously improved out of all recognition since then!

Nice win it just confirms to me she really is going off the boil. Not.
Well I did say
That's a really nice win for Anna against a player who seems to have had quite a lot of decent wins at 25K and 50K level since returning midway through last year after seemingly a long time out.
Laurendon also has had a fair amount of success at a higher level and will be another good test.
Ah, pity one that certainly got away. However, another week of very decent performances for someone that's certainly been playing top 300 level this year.
