Bloomers will be in the main draw here, as will (believe it or not) Mario Ancic!

Good win by Paul.

Thomet has had a decent couple of qualifying wins, 6-1 6-0 against an unranked American and 6-2 6-3 against Garanganga ( ZIM ) WR 758

Bloomers avoids Ancic (no. 4 seed Krajinovic gets that nice slightly delayed 18th birthday present ...) but would probably face no. 1 seed Brugues-Davi in R2 if he gets through his first match, while the Bishop does not get the kind of draw he might have been praying for:

L32: Richard Bloomfield WR 491 v (Q) Jarryd Maher (AUS) WR 871
L32: (Q) Paul Bishop WR 1765 v (2) Catalin Gard (ROU) WR 330

It doesn't get much easier for him in the doubles, either! disbelief  If perchance he & Mike Kwon (UNR) manage to negotiate their way past the likewise unranked Russo-Sierra Leonean pair, Evegeniy Belov & Sahr Timothy Kpulin, they'll almost certainly have to face the second seeds, Brugues Davi & Nicholas Monroe (ESP/USA WR 996)! cry

jawdrop.gif Bishop came through qualies?! Well I never woulda thunk it.

Eh, makes a change from last year when he had "Hollywood Patented Smile TM" work done as a present. It all comes from living in America. I blame Bolletieri.

Yeesh, Ancic is still on tour? I haven't heard sight nor sound of him since Wimbledon 2008! Apart from an Ancic fan posted an icon on the net recently which read "Please wait whilst Mario has a tantrum". devilish.gif biggrin.gif

That's Krajinovic, not the Bishop, I take it? confuse(no need to answer that, as long as it is!)

I blame Bolletieri for most things that are wrong with tennis, but I hadn't got as far as blaming him for excessive dental work yet! smile

I seem to remember that after a few injuries (and gaining his law degree), Mario dropped out of tennis for a bit, joined a law practice and there were rumours that he might never return. Looks like he's now done a Colin Fleming, i.e. realised that he can pick up a professional career again later, but pro tennis won't wait ... and is more fun!

ROFLMAO. Btw that sounds like it should be said with a southern drawl as well! wink

Hehehe.

So that's what happened to Ancic. He wasn't having much success before as I recall, I'm not sure if he hopes to improve here.

Yeah, it's British nature to be spooked by that - no 17 yr old should have teeth that perfect.

Is that the new medical term for glandular fever? confuse
