Lokks like another Boggo story in the making up to top #150 then its farting back fire in reverse-what a ruddy mess!

You do remember this is the Jamie Baker who nearly died 18 months back, and has, frankly, amazed us all by returning to pro tennis after the illness from hell?
Shame that he couldn't hang on to his great early start with the set and the break lead and things went away from him from the tiebreak onwards, but a decent effort from him and at least he suggested that he can compete with this level of player and shows he could beat Berankis.
This run has probably meant he has just about done enough to get into the DC squad now, especially considering that Lloyd is a big fan of him anyway.
That is a bit of a shocker from Flemski. I'm temped to say that it's obbismal . It should never have been a 50 / 50 match.
Up to now I had more thought it just hadn't quite been clicking this year, but I was still thinking they were maybe not that far off.
Dent and Harrison may be attacking players with reasonable past and possible future pedigree as singles players, but they have no doubles pedigree ( Dent CH 170, but currently actually unranked in doubles , although he will be after this !! and Harrison at a doubles CH of 420 )
I did say that I'd go with Ward, Baker and Flemski for Davis Cup and probably still would as the Flemski partnership is the least problematic doubles option ( I wish I was saying simply the best ). But I wish Flemski in particular were in better form. Losing to a pair with no real doubles pedigree in their own country, that's not a good precedent !!

Its still Flemski 100% for DC for me. I wish Murray/Marray were in the squad as a 2nd option though, I cannot see the point of Hutchings being their for this trip. We surely have to play a partnership, not two good individuals. Ross may figure again in the future if he's likely to play with AM or, has had at least a small batch of matches on tour with a fellow Brit. For now though, its partnership all the way for me but, as "managers" over think most things, I have a bad feeling JL may not agree.
Dent is probably not a bad doubles player given his big serve and ability at the net, but it's still not a match that they should be losing.
At least if they do end up playing Davis Cup then it will at least given them a supposed much easier match to re-build some confidence and get themselves a win.
Boggo is still british number 2 and is streets ahead of the other players apart from andy. alex is talented and a very streaky player but as has been reported before lloyd does not rate him.
